The New Village School is happy to announce that our Extended Day Program begins Tuesday, September 8. Chako Takahashi and Lousang Junni will be working at the New Village School in the afternoons to provide a fun, creative and nurturing program for the children.

Our first session (Session1) is September 8 – 25 and will be led by our own Chako Takahashi. She will be working with the children sharing her gift of handwork, crafts and other artistic delights. Chako and the children will be helping to prepare some wonderful projects that will be displayed at the Fall Festival on September 27.

Session 2 begins October 13 (after we return from our fall break) and Lousang Junni will be joining the Extended Day team. The children will be offered a variety of programs including handwork, fitness fun, origami, woodworking, cooking and more. Details about that session will be sent out the middle of September.

Extended Day Program Overview:
Open Monday – Friday when school is in session 3:10 - 5:30pm
Scheduled Pick-up times are at 4:30pm and 5:30pm
Session 1: September 8 – 25
Focus: Crafts, handwork and kite making for the Fall Festival

Scheduled Pick-Up Times
There are scheduled pick up times for several reasons:
     • This allows us to create a fun and interesting activity for the children that they can   
        participate in without disruption.
    • It allows uninterrupted time for the group so they can engage fully in their experience.
    • It allows us to simplify the accounting process so that we can keep the
       program affordable.

If you need to pick up between the Scheduled Pick-Up Times:
Of course there may be a time when you must pick up your child between the Scheduled Pick-Up Times. That is not a problem. You will be billed for the Block your child is in at the time of pick up.

Fee Structure:
                 Block 1 ~ 3:10 – 4:30pm
                 Fee is $12 for Block 1
                 Includes healthy snack and materials fee for special projects.
(For example, wood for woodworking, yarn for handwork, special fabrics, paper, etc. for craft projects)

                 Block 2 ~ 4:30 – 5:30pm  
                 $8.00 for Block 2

Sign –Up
There are two ways you can sign up for the program:
1.    Sign up on the bulletin board outside the main school classroom.
2.    Send an email to office@thenewvillageschool.org  and let us know your plans.

24-Hour Notice Requested

To allow us to prepare for the needs of the children, we request a 24-hour notice for the Extended Day Program.

For children who sign up with less than 24-hour notice, the Drop-In Fee of an additional $3 per block will be charged to your account.  

If you are running late and have not arrived at school by 3:15pm, your child will automatically be enrolled into the Extended Day Program until you arrive. You are welcome to the leave them until the end of Block 1 so they can have snack and participate in the day’s event, or you can pick up early. You will be invoiced for Block 1 if you pick up by 4:30pm.

Cancellation

If you cancel your reservation with less than a 24-hour notice, you will be invoiced for Block 1.
If you cancel your reservation with a minimum of a 24-hour notice, there will be no cancellation fee.
If your child is sick and absent from school, they will be removed from the Extended Day roster    
for that day and there will be no cancellation fee.

Payment
         Families will be invoiced monthly.
